About this work
Abide & Anchor is a private Christian work and a labour of love.
It was built to offer a simple and steady way to meet with God each day without noise, clutter or pressure. In a busy and distracted age, the aim is to provide something quieter, calmer and useful. A place where ordinary Christians can return to Scripture, prayer and honest reflection.
This work has been shaped by many years of walking with Christ, local church life, Christian teaching, reading, writing, work, travel and the ordinary pressures of everyday life. It has not been written from a distance but from the middle of real life.
The aim here is not novelty, noise or spiritual performance. It is to write with clarity, warmth and conviction, taking sin seriously, grace seriously and the daily Christian walk seriously too.
This site is not written as though any of us has it all together. It is written for ordinary Christians who still need the mercy of God in Christ every day.
Abide & Anchor was not built to gather attention. It was built to be useful.
The hope behind it is simple: that it may help ordinary Christians slow down, open the Bible, pray honestly and keep walking with the Lord in everyday life.
A Word of Welcome
Welcome.
If you are here because you want to slow down, draw nearer to the Lord and carry His Word into daily life, I pray you are in the right place.
Abide & Anchor was built for ordinary days, busy days, heavy days and days when your strength feels thin.
It is not here to impress anyone. It is here to help you return to Jesus, one quiet moment at a time.
My hope is simple: that this website may help you open the Bible, pray honestly and keep walking with the Lord in everyday life.
What this website is
Abide & Anchor is a calm Christian place for daily life with God.
It is here to help you:
- read Scripture
- reflect honestly
- pray simply
- notice the Lord's faithfulness
- walk forward steadily
It is designed to be useful for Christians seeking a steady rhythm with God and also for those who serve others through Bible studies, home groups and teaching.
Across the site you will find practical help for daily faith, personal study, prayer, notes, reflection and Christian growth.
Some days you may come here for one reading and one quiet prayer. Other days you may return to something God used to steady you earlier.
Over time, those moments matter.
A verse that helped. A prayer prayed in weakness. A sermon note that stayed with you. A truth you needed to remember. A small mercy you did not want to forget.
Abide & Anchor is here to help you notice those things and keep walking with the Lord.
This website is not a replacement for Scripture, your local church or faithful pastoral care. Its purpose is to point you back to Christ, His Word and steady Christian living.
What this website is not
- It is not social media.
- It is not a performance.
- It is not guilt driven.
- It is not a replacement for Scripture, the local church or wise pastoral care.
- It is a small tool for a real walk with God.
Let Scripture be your final authority and stay grounded in a faithful local church.

Our foundation
Abide & Anchor is built on the historic Christian faith and anchored in Scripture.
We believe:
- the Bible is God's Word and is trustworthy
- Jesus Christ is Lord, fully God and fully man
- salvation is by grace through faith in Christ
- the Holy Spirit helps believers grow in faith, obedience and love
This work is written from a historic evangelical Christian conviction. It does not claim novelty, special revelation or authority beyond Scripture. Its purpose is to point people back to Christ, His Word and faithful Christian living.
Trust and Transparency
Trust matters here.
Abide & Anchor asks people to slow down with Scripture, pray honestly and sometimes write personal reflections before the Lord. That deserves care, plain answers and humility.
Who is behind Abide & Anchor?
Abide & Anchor has been created by me, a Christian in Australia who has walked with the Lord for more than forty years within the life and care of local churches.
I have served as a small group leader and have spent many years reading, encouraging and helping ordinary Christians think carefully about Scripture and daily discipleship. My formal background includes a business degree and postgraduate studies in literature. That combination has helped shape Abide & Anchor as a quiet, ordered and carefully written Christian space rather than a noisy content platform.
Abide & Anchor is not built around a personality, a brand or a celebrity voice. Its aim is simpler than that: to help people pause with Scripture, return to the Lord, remember His faithfulness and keep walking with Him.
How is the writing prepared?
The writing in Abide & Anchor begins with Scripture and must keep returning to Scripture.
When preparing reflections, studies and devotional material, recognised Christian reference works and suitable Christian resources may be consulted where helpful. These are used as servants, not masters. The final test is always the Word of God.
Abide & Anchor seeks to be evangelical, Christ-centred, Scripture-shaped and pastorally useful. No reflection should replace personal Bible reading, local church fellowship or wise pastoral care. The desire is to encourage the reader back toward the Lord, not to make Abide itself the centre.
How should I test what I read here?
Please test everything by Scripture.
That is not a defensive statement. It is the right Christian instinct. A helpful devotional should not ask for blind trust. It should help you see more clearly what God has said and lead you back to His Word.
If something in Abide & Anchor encourages you, strengthens you or challenges you, take it back to the Bible. Read the passage. Pray over it. Speak with a trusted pastor, elder or mature Christian if needed.
Does Abide & Anchor store my credit card details?
No. Abide & Anchor does not store your credit card details.
Payments are handled through Stripe and where available through trusted payment options such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Abide & Anchor does not receive or keep your full card details.
Can you see my private entries?
Abide & Anchor is not built for us to read your private entries.
Your prayer notes, journal entries, study notes, saved reflections and other personal content are intended to belong to your own account. We do not monitor, review or use your personal entries as content.
The personal tools in Abide exist to help you remember the Lord's faithfulness, organise your walk with Him and keep meaningful things close. They are not there for public display.
Is Abide & Anchor a replacement for church?
No.
Abide & Anchor is not a replacement for the local church, pastoral care, gathered worship, Christian fellowship or the ordinary means of grace God has given His people.
It is a quiet companion for the week. It may help you pause, pray, reflect, remember and prepare. But Christians are not meant to walk alone. The local church matters.
Funding and independence
Abide & Anchor is independently built and personally funded.
It is not backed by investors, a denomination or a large organisation.
Any subscriptions simply help cover the ongoing costs of running, maintaining and improving the website, so it can continue to serve others well.
Why there is little or no social media presence
Abide & Anchor is intentionally not built around social media.
The aim is not constant noise, self-promotion or attention. The aim is to offer a quieter and more thoughtful place that helps people return to Scripture, prayer and a steadier walk with God.
Bible text note
Scripture quotations are from the World English Bible, public domain, unless otherwise noted.
A final note
Abide & Anchor is here to serve, not to replace.
Stay in the Word. Stay prayerful. Stay grounded in a faithful local church. Test everything by Scripture and keep your eyes on Christ.
